Had a great experience with Nick C. on the replacement of the AC units in my apartment. He seemed knowledgable and provided several options but I didn't feel pressured on any upsell. He responded to my emails in a timely manner and he and his courteous team showed up on installation day on time. He took the time to explain the controls and any issues we may come across. After dealing with another rude and unresponsive AC dealer, Nick and HighTech Air was literally a breath of fresh air. Would highly recommend.

Identifying Common PTAC Issues

Recognizing early signs of malfunction in your PTAC unit is crucial for timely intervention, particularly in Glendale, NY. The first telltale sign is unusual noise. A properly functioning PTAC unit operates with minimal sound. If you notice rattling, buzzing, or any other strange noises, it’s a clear indication that something’s amiss, potentially requiring professional attention from High Tech PTAC Service NYC. The second sign is inefficiency in heating or cooling. This could point to several issues, including problems with the thermostat, compressor, or even refrigerant leaks.

Continuing, the third sign to watch for is the presence of strange odors. These can range from a musty smell indicating mold growth to a burning scent hinting at electrical issues. Fourthly, water leakage not only poses a risk to the unit itself but can also lead to property damage and health hazards. Lastly, an unexpected spike in energy bills in Queens County can signal that your PTAC unit is working harder than it should, indicating a potential fault. Have a question?

The land comprising present-day Glendale was originally named Fresh Pond, a swampy area that was part of a 74,000-acre (30,000 ha) area collectively called Newtown. The town of Newtown had been chartered by the Dutch West India Company in 1642. In turn, Fresh Pond was originally named for two freshwater ponds that, in the early 1900s, were filled in.

In 1847, New York State’s Rural Cemetery Act ended the creation of any new cemeteries in Manhattan. Cemetery owners were encouraged to build in Brooklyn and Queens. Glendale quickly became almost encircled by cemeteries being located in what is called the “Cemetery Belt”.

In 1860, developer George C. Schott was given a large amount of land in Fresh Pond as repayment for a debt. Schott renamed Fresh Pond after his native Glendale, Ohio. Nine years later, John C. Schooley, a real estate agent, bought a substantial amount of property and also called it Glendale. Schooley laid out streets and divided his property into 469 lots, measuring 25 by 100 feet (7.6 m × 30.5 m), which he then sold off for $300 each. In 1869, a railroad stop at 73rd Street (then named Wyckoff Avenue) was opened by the South Side Railroad, which was sold in 1874 to the North Side Railroad, which then was merged into the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) in 1876, becoming part of the Montauk Branch. In 1927, the station burned down and was never replaced.
